Farmland Matching Program

As part of our mission to support a vibrant future for agriculture in our region, ASA has resources to offer landowners who have land available for sale or lease. ASA is a partner organization of the Hudson Valley Farmlink Network which was established in 2014 by the American Farmland Trust. The goal of the network is to ensure the availability of farmland in the Hudson Valley for the farmers of today and tomorrow. Network organizations offer trainings and one-on-one assistance for farmers and owners of agricultural land. Go to to search listings of farms available for sale or lease, farms looking for a farm partner or manager, as well as farmers looking for land.

Are you a landowner with farmland for sale or lease?

• ASA can assist you to determine the most suitable agricultural uses of your property. We have assembled a team of farmers and agricultural service providers who can give expert advice based on soils, aerial photos and site visits to help identify the best use of the land.
• We can assist in posting your land listing on the Hudson Valley Farmland Finder website, where you may find a match with a farmer looking for land.
• Learn about the benefits of leasing your land for agriculture, including reduced taxes through the Agricultural Tax Assessment, rental income, share of production, and the satisfaction of seeing your land put to good use.
• If a match is made with a farmer, ASA can assist with resources to craft a farm lease which fits the needs of both parties.
